Fairport Canal Engagement Session | Rochester Engagement
This lovely couple met in college, but not in the way you might think. Linnay and John’s sister were roommates, and inevitably Linnay and John ended up crossing paths. They started talking, hit it off, and they’ve never looked back since! Now that they’re getting married, her friend will become her sister, too – what a fun story!
Linnay grew up on the water canal in Medina, so we did their engagement session on the canal in Fairport because it had special meaning to Linnay and felt like home. It really represented a piece of her.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel the previous Friday due to the rain, but Sunday turned out beautiful. Thankfully, they were able to stay in town and were actually headed back home to Pittsburgh right after the shoot. Maybe it was supposed to happen this way because the weather could not have been better and the lighting was just perfect. Plus, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom right now and looked amazing. We did several photos with those to symbolize the time of year of their engagement photos. And it’s impossible not to get a few photos with those beauties – they’re perfect for a romantic backdrop for an engagement session.
Linnay and John also have a beautiful husky named Lulu who had fun getting in on the photo shoot. She was so sweet and did a fantastic job. She was so excited and looked so regal standing there by their sides. Since we were outdoors, she had plenty of space to walk around and explore.
They’re getting married in August – just a few short months away! – on Canandaigua Lake. I know their wedding will be amazing. Congratulations on your engagement, Linnay and John!
