The North Farm Wedding
Rachael + Robert
If the saying is true that rain is good luck on your wedding day, then these two are starting off their marriage with buckets of luck. The rain came down in sheets throughout Rachael and Robert’s ceremony, but it all came in good timing.
This lovely couple tied the knot at The North Farm, a charmingly rustic event venue in upstate New York. This is such a beautiful lakeside location for couples who want lots of outdoor photos. Before the ceremony, they both donned their wedding attire and met beneath the trees for an intimate first look. She wore a dazzling wedding-white ballgown, and when he turned around to see his lovely bride for the first time, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Their faces say it all! These two met a few years ago in college at Fredonia, and after weeks of counting down, their big day had finally arrived. They were standing before each other as soon-to-be newlyweds.
Rachael and Robert hardly noticed me as they danced around and shared a few sweet embraces taking in the moment. To be honest, the first look is always one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. It’s just so real. You can see the authentic happiness all over their faces. It was as if the sky was waiting for us: as soon as we finished their portraits and went inside for the ceremony to begin, the rain came down. It was actually so peaceful to hear it pattering in the background as they promised forever to each other.
Once they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs., it was time to celebrate! The big open barn was perfect for dinner, dancing, and toasts. I especially loved all of the fresh-cut greenery they added throughout for extra color. It gave the space such a fresh, vibrant feel. In the end, the sky cleared and made way for the most beautiful sunset photos around The North Farm. It all worked out perfectly! Congratulations, Rachael and Robert!
