Shawn + Kimmy

This has been a long time coming for Kimmy and Shawn. After meeting in Boston in college, they spent a lot of time together studying and being active members of our campus fellowship community, InterVarsity. They were both in Boston for 7 years before moving to upstate NY. Now Shawn is doing his residency in Rochester and Kimmy is finishing up medical school in Buffalo. They haven’t been in upstate for long but they love the ease of hiking, snowboarding, and being able to visit Toronto.

I photographed their engagement session 2 years ago, then their mini wedding (due to Covid) last year, and FINALLY their wedding. This may have been the longest period of time I’ve ever worked with a couple through their milestones. Held at The Sterling at Arrowhead Golf Club, their beautiful day was lovely, classic, and modern. All of my favorites.

I had never been to The Sterling and it didn’t disappoint. It has lots of natural light, high white ceilings, and amazing staff. The ceremony took place outside on the little island surrounded by their closest friends and family. After guests left the ceremony area, they were greeted by a delightful champagne wall. Once the formalities were finished, guests had the opportunity to enjoy the multiple photo booths and the s’mores table. It was such a great feeling to see guests enjoy themselves again.
